荷兰语一般现在时应用

Ikeetgeen vlees. 我不吃肉。I do not eat meat. 说“Ik eet geen vlees”的素食主义者想表达的是他一般（习惯性的）不吃肉。内容来自dedecms3. 未来的事件或动作尽管荷语中有专门的将来时来表达将来发生的事件或动作，荷兰人也还是很习惯用一般现在时。说话的人只是用一些时间副词（明天、下周）来暗示他是指的将来。（这点和汉语很象－－译者注）Weetenmorgen erwtensoep. 明天我们吃豆汤。We will eat peasoup tomorrow. Ikneemer straks nog een. 待会儿我会再要一份。I will have another one in a moment. 4. 条件句：如果……那么但凡遇到在英语的“if从句”中使用助动词“will”的情形，荷语就会很乐意地用一般现在时来代替。虽然在荷语中也有使用与“will（将要）”对应的zullen来表达 （参见将来时），但是这会使句子听起来过于死板。Als je licht uitdoet,kunje de sterren beterzien. 如果你关掉灯，你看到的星星会更清楚。If you switch off the light, you will see the stars better.
